Sometimes I meet people who continue living their life in ways where they drain themselves.
Some are not aware and others are scared and cannot see any other way. They only imagine something worse if they change the settings in their life. To follow your guts you have to trust yourself (enough) or choose do it anyway to see what happens. Being in charge in your professional life and in your personal takes courage. To follow your gut does. Follow your intuition. Follow your leadership takes guts. An ordinary example is people staying at jobs they do not like or people who stay in unsatisfying relationships because they can´t imagine better for themselves. The opposite where we follow our guts we choose for something better to be lived. We create more energy. Perhaps quit the old job without having a new one and having or maintain the feeling it is for the better. We can try to find new ways in job and relationship, talk to the persons involved or simply change our energy and being. Rely on our body - and our gut feeling. Where we are pointed to. If you get scared it can be a help to ask for help. Look at the goal and the gain. As most thing else in life the more you practise the easier to feel your gut and to know when to take action. Our basic gut. If we allow us self to be that important in our life. It can at times feels like jumping out from the cliff. But huge difference if we have a parachute, another cliff near to land on, mountain equipment or if we take a step over the edge and the stop believing. Our body will react instinctly and we will probably go down. So connect and feel your stomach, heart and genitals. Breathe deeply. What does your body and gut feeling tell you? For most people I will promise when we follow our guts we gain a life with much more energy, satisfaction, happiness and joy. Always become winners in own life even when "we lose". Because you dared to try, to dive in. Makes you a better leader. You navigated on the basis of being you. You chose to give your best shot at that given moment. So feel and follow your gut and expand your growth and happiness. I partly disagree! Both as private person and professional as a body psychotherapist! It depend how you interpret. You´ll get some examples. When I was in my teens I felt so FAT. When I was feeling my body and looking at it I felt FAT. But the fact was that it wasn´t. For many years I looked normal sized, slim and for some years a bit chubby, but fat, no. When looking in the mirror I saw FAT. Breathing, connected to and "being in my body" I felt FAT. Professional there is a reason why the "food challenges" as for instans anorexia is called a dis-order. The persons perception of reality and self has changed. You´ll get more about this theme in another blogpost and how all is support also when human beings choose eating disorders. Most of us know the feeling of having been to a great party. As times go by the memory of the party gets better and better. The feeling many will have in their body will resonate with what they have told them self and when sharing in stories with their loved ones. Now the party was awesome and how the party feels in the body is to. By the way something we can counciously choose to use actively in our life. Professional I have seen and heard people having created what is called "false memories" also related to their body. A person can have so little sense of Self (being them self) that he or she doesn´t know. The feeling in their body will often be splited and for some feels as anxiety. A few month ago I had surgery and after that my body for a month nearly fainted when consulting nurses and doctors. Absolutely peaceful things but my body didn´t knew and tried to escape. My body instinct was that health staff = danger. Even though I was in narcosis when operated my body remember the feeling of danger and pain. That being said the body does tell the true about emotions. For some human beings it is to overwhelming and for those it can be a good idea to go slow or get assistance from a mentor when feeling their body. Most kids are connected to their body and express the emotion when feeling it. The body is a treasure chamber to tell stories we had forgot or stories we connect to when giving attention to how it feels. It can of course also be we have a story and then dare to feel our emotions as they are in the now and feels in our body. The body is often a fast way to seek for advice. It has lots of great answers. In some way the right question is not if the body alway tells the trueth. A body is a body and always tell us stories and feelings. The conclusion is the body is true. It has a story. Many stories and a now where we can choose to feel how it feels. To see what the body believe is true. The combination body(awereness) and head (cognition) can be glorious. The body is a source of wisdom. It also have emotions and when we listen, perhaps go even deeper and when we respect the body's answers for many of us then it can be clearly what to do. For example what is and feels most fun and free. Do we hold our breath or breath in the situation.... That is a great parameter. I invite you to have fun exploring your body and it´s wisdom.
